How do you define a Millennial?

I define a millennial as a person who has grown up in an increasingly online world, and a person who is in tune with the social aspects of media and marketing. A millennial accepts globalization as an integral part of society and encourages the expansion of technology and communication in order to fulfill the inherent needs of society”.

How would you describe your personality?

I have a very loving personality. I would describe myself as structured but outgoing. I am comfortable in leadership roles and like to keep things organized – My roommates even make fun of me for the excessive white erase calendar that I have in my room!

What is an interesting fact not many people know about you?

Many people may not know this, but I can drive a manual (stick-shift) car.

What are you passionate about?

I am extremely passionate about making a positive difference in the world, even if that difference only affects one person. I want to leave the world in a better place than I found it.

What has been your biggest challenge so far and how have you overcome it?

My biggest challenge so far has been my stubbornness, which relates back to my love of structure and organization. If things are not going the way I originally planned them I become easily frustrated. I overcome this dilemma by learning to take a back seat and listen to other people's critiques and advice. It helps me to look at a scenario from another person's perspective and/or a new angle.

How does culture influence your identity?

Alexa (Middle) and The Penn State University National Millennial Community

Culture is something that influences my identity in every facet of life. Culture influences what cereal I eat in the morning, what shirt I put on for class, and what television show I watch before bed. Culture influences what jokes I think are funny and, most importantly, culture influences how I view myself as a person. People follow cultural trends in order to conform with and be accepted within society and therefore, in my opinion, culture is one of the main determinants of what I do in almost every scenario.

What brings you happiness?

What brings me the most happiness is spending time with my family, and dog, Mango.

5 year plan?

In five years I plan to graduate from college, find a job as either a PR consultant or event planner for a company, and take any and all opportunities to travel the world.
